I would also like to acknowledge one of the pieces of audience research I did during the process of making my Digipak, which, although small, was significant in the development of my final product. As has been documented on the blog, I was struggling to decide whether, on my CD, to have a picture of Adonis facing the camera or one of the ones where he has his back to it. I constructed a relatively simple, quick, and easy tally chart, where I noted down peoples preferences having shown them both. I went around the class to do this, and the results are as follows:
This was actually a result that was quite unconventional - often, in Digipaks, one would expect to see as much of the artist's face as possible. However, for my audience to reject this and decide they wanted his back on the CD goes against this. I would suggest that this is due to the variation of my image - my target audience of Urban Youth aged 15-24 are happy to see variation, such as between the front and the back, as long as the synergy is apparent, and prefer this over convention. This is quite interesting and shaped my final product significantly, as visible below, off the back of this Audience Feedback.
