Font - Feedback

As you can see, the suitability of font was an aspect of my Digipak, and thus my whole ancillary work, brought up by Louisa in part of my wider audience feedback. I, personally, liked the font, but did not let this blind me in my pursuit of a final product. We had decided on it as a group previously as part of our artist's synergy, but it was open to change. As a result, I pursued an answer from my target audience.

This feedback is from Petya, who despite not being male, is still an example of Urban Youth aged 15-24. She suggested, contrary to Louisa, that the font suited the genre. This was interesting, but probably the only one in my research who said this. It was also positive for me that she found it pleasing aesthetically, and could visualise it on a final product. This was a good start to my research into font.

The overall lesson I took away from this was actually very interesting and I would suggest that I learned more than just about font preferences. I found it fascinating that although much of my audience thought this font was not conventional in my genre, it worked. Many of them pointed towards the originality of it - it was something they hadn't seen before but thought would look good on a final product. As a result, I can conclude that although audiences have set ideas about genre conventions, they are open to new, aesthetically pleasing ideas, as Urban Youth is very accepting of originality, possibly more so than conventions. This was a huge aspect of learning on this project from my Audience Feedback.
